Bathtub Gin
Bathtub Gin is a small-batch compound gin made in Kent by Ableforth’s, a distillery known for its bold, handcrafted spirits. It is produced using a cold-compounding method, where botanicals are infused into high-quality pot-distilled grain spirit without further distillation. This technique preserves the full flavour of the botanicals.
The recipe includes juniper, coriander seed, cardamom, cassia bark, cloves and orange peel. The result is a rich, aromatic gin with warming spice and citrus lift. It is suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Each bottle is hand-wrapped in brown paper, string and wax, reflecting its apothecary-style heritage.
- Bathtub Gin opens with aromas of cinnamon, cloves and citrus peel over a base of juniper and cardamom.
- The palate is bold and warming with orange zest, spice and a smooth, slightly sweet finish.
- Finishes long and aromatic with lingering botanicals and a dry citrus edge.
Pairs well with lemon tarts, spiced nuts or a classic gin and tonic.
