Designed for an exceptionally smooth and clean finish, this bourbon undergoes the sour mash process, blending corn, rye, and malted barley before maturing in American White Oak barrels. The aroma is robust and dry, featuring hints of honey, rye, dried fruits, vanilla, and chocolate. On the palate, it offers a full and rich experience with pronounced apricot notes, complemented by butter, pepper, honey, and oak. The finish is extended, evolving from toffee apples to pecan and caramel. Blanton's Black Label, exclusively produced for the Japanese export market at 80 proof, is among the rarest bourbon whiskeys globally. It bears a striking resemblance to the green-labeled Special Reserve, distinguished by its meticulous barrel selection process of at least 8 years (in contrast to the standard 6), resulting in a more intricate, robust, and refined whiskey tasting journey. Like the Takara Red edition, the Black Label is a coveted addition for serious bourbon collectors and an essential exploration for devoted Blanton's enthusiasts. Crafted exclusively for the Japanese market, this particular Blanton's expression is created using Buffalo Trace's high-rye mash #2 and is aged for 8 years in new charred American oak before being bottled at 80 proof
