Bowmore 18 Year Old is a highly acclaimed, beautifully balanced single malt Scotch whisky crafted at Islay's oldest licensed distillery. Situated on the shores of Loch Indaal, Bowmore is celebrated for its traditional floor maltings and the legendary No. 1 Vaults, the world's oldest maturation warehouse. This exceptional expression is aged for a full eighteen years in a hand-selected combination of both finest Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, alongside traditional ex-bourbon barrels. The extended aging process perfectly tames the distillery's signature Islay peat smoke, seamlessly weaving it into rich layers of dark chocolate, sun-ripened fruits, and complex wood oils to create a remarkably sophisticated and elegant dram.
Food Pairing: Pairs magnificently with rich chocolate fondues, slow-roasted venison with a berry reduction, seared duck breast, or robust, mature cheeses like a traditional English Stilton.
Tasting Notes : Mellow mahogany in appearance, featuring a silky, full-bodied, and elegantly balanced mouthfeel.
Nose : Classic Bowmore peat smoke beautifully tempered with creamy caramel, rich toffee, ripe nectarines, and dark chocolate, layered over subtle hints of dried fruit and wood spice.
Palate : Complex and wonderfully soft, delivering a rich wave of dark chocolate, candied oranges, and toasted almonds, balanced by gentle peat smoke, sweet maple syrup, and subtle baking spices.
Finish : Exceptionally long, warm, and lingering, leaving a comforting harmony of gentle wood spice, dried citrus peel, and soft maritime smoke.
Serve : Serve neat in a Glencairn glass to experience its full 18-year maturation, or add a few drops of room-temperature water to open up its complex fruit and peat notes.
