Casa Carrillo Ascend Ridge
The Casa Carrillo Ascend Ridge represents the point in the journey where everything begins to open up. Created by legendary cigar maker Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, the Ascend series is built around the idea of progression, with each vitola representing a different stage of the climb. The Ridge, a 6 x 52 box-pressed Toro, occupies the middle of that journey—where complexity deepens, transitions become more pronounced, and the blend reveals its full range of character.
At the center of the Casa Carrillo Ascend Ridge is a warm, oily Ecuadorian Habano wrapper that provides natural sweetness, richness, and body. Beneath it sits a Nicaraguan Estelí binder surrounding carefully selected Nicaraguan Criollo '98 and Corojo 2012 seed fillers. Together, these tobaccos create a structured, layered profile designed to evolve throughout the smoke.
The Ridge rewards taking your time. Its box-pressed Toro format gives the blend room to develop, allowing its sweetness, spice, earthiness, and deeper tobacco character to shift and build from one section to the next. It's a cigar made for smokers who appreciate complexity and noticeable flavor transitions rather than a profile that stays the same from start to finish.
Handcrafted at the Casa Carrillo factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic, the Ascend Ridge showcases Ernesto Perez-Carrillo's approach to blending: every tobacco and every size should serve a purpose. For the Ridge, that purpose is revealing what the Ascend blend can really do.
Whether you're already a fan of Casa Carrillo cigars, searching for a premium Ecuadorian Habano cigar, or looking for a complex Nicaraguan tobacco blend, the Ascend Ridge is an excellent place to begin exploring the Ascend collection.
