This wine hails from Canada’s Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, a region celebrated for its diverse microclimates and expressive wines. CedarCreek Estate Winery, established in 1987 and now part of the von Mandl Family Estates (owners of Mission Hill), is one of the Okanagan’s pioneering wineries. Their commitment to organic farming and precision winemaking is central to their identity, with a philosophy rooted in expressing the unique terroir of each site—most notably their Jagged Rock Vineyard.
Wine Description
This Chardonnay pours a brilliant golden straw in the glass. The nose offers layered aromas of lemon curd, crisp apple, and white peach, underpinned by flinty minerality and subtle oak-derived vanilla and hazelnut notes. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied and beautifully textured, with vibrant acidity balancing the ripe orchard fruit. The wine finishes long and clean, with a touch of saline minerality reflecting the rocky soils of its namesake vineyard. Crafted entirely from Chardonnay, it is a precise, elegant wine with a drinking window from now through 2028, though it may reward a few more years of cellaring.
Food Pairing
Pair this wine with butter-poached lobster, roasted chicken with tarragon, or a creamy wild mushroom risotto. This pairing highlights the wine’s depth and character.
