This Canadian titan absolutely roars. Copper & Cask's newest 21-year-old masterpiece completely redefines the modern cigar blend landscape. Sourced straight from Alberta, this hazmat-level liquid spent over two decades resting patiently inside original oak barrels. Afterward, the blending team transferred the whiskey into exquisite Armagnac and Tawny Port casks for six crucial months. Hitting an awe-inspiring 157.8 proof, it genuinely pushes the boundaries of extreme cask-strength flavor without ever sacrificing the underlying, delicate nuances of the blend.
Drinking a hazmat whiskey requires genuine respect. You'd expect pure ethanol burn, but the lengthy maturation remarkably tames the fierce proof. Instead of blinding heat, you encounter an immensely dense, chewy texture that blankets the tongue with unbelievable richness. The dual-cask finishing works absolute wonders here, pulling deep fruit sugars from the Port wood while the Armagnac lends sophisticated earthiness. Every sip feels like unearthing a rare treasure buried deep inside a legendary master distiller's private, highly guarded cellar.
- Aged a full 21 years in original oak.
- Finished in Armagnac and Tawny Port casks.
- Bottled at a massive 157.8 proof.
It's an unapologetically bold pour. Only 3,000 bottles exist globally, making this high-octane expression an absolute must-have for serious collectors and thrill-seekers alike. Blending seventeen ancient barrels requires a masterful touch, and the resulting liquid profoundly over-delivers on its ambitious premise. It pairs flawlessly with a robust maduro cigar, cutting through the thick smoke while beautifully amplifying the dark, chocolatey tobacco notes. Snagging a bottle feels incredibly rewarding, especially since high-age Canadian blends with this much pedigree and finishing rarely hit the open market nowadays.
