Larceny Barrel Proof Batch B525 represents the pinnacle of wheated bourbon excellence, bottled at full proof to deliver the uncompromised intensity and authentic character that discerning bourbon enthusiasts demand. Built on Larceny's signature wheated bourbon foundation—a recipe that favors wheat over traditional rye for a smoother, more refined character—this barrel-proof release showcases how exceptional bourbon doesn't require high rye content to achieve remarkable complexity and depth. Batch B525 is a carefully curated selection that demonstrates Larceny's commitment to quality at every level, offering bourbon lovers the full expression of wheated bourbon's sophisticated potential.
The nose opens with inviting warmth—rich caramel, vanilla cream, and toasted grain leading the charge, followed by subtle spice, oak, and hints of honey and baking spices that speak to patient aging and careful barrel selection. The palate is luxuriously smooth for its proof, showcasing the distinctive character of wheated bourbon with exceptional balance and refinement. Flavors of butterscotch, toffee, and vanilla are complemented by subtle pepper spice and warm oak, creating a full-bodied experience where the wheat's natural sweetness and softness shine without overwhelming. Notes of caramel, cocoa, and gentle spice develop gradually, revealing layers of complexity that reward contemplation. The finish is warm and lingering, with persistent sweetness and spice that showcase the quality of both the wheated mashbill and the careful barrel-proof bottling approach.
Larceny Barrel Proof Batch B525 is for wheated bourbon devotees and collectors seeking unfiltered, unchillfiltered authenticity. This is proof that great bourbon comes in many forms—high proof or low, high rye or wheated—when craftsmanship and quality ingredients lead the way. Perfect for savoring neat or with a few drops of water to open up additional dimensions, this exceptional batch delivers the full character and refinement that barrel-proof bourbon enthusiasts crave.
