Proof drastically alters the tasting experience. Lost Lantern’s Spring 2026 collection boldly explores how alcohol volume profoundly manipulates a spirit's overall aromatic architecture, completely redefining your perception of rye spice. This unique pairing places two vastly different American rye whiskies side by side. You're examining the extreme boundaries of the Upland South. Broad Branch delivers a massive, hazmat-level North Carolina beast. It absolutely commands your undivided attention.
New Riff takes a different approach. Their six-year-old Kentucky straight rye uses a classic 95/5 mashbill to create a remarkably chocolate-forward profile that beautifully captivates your eager palate. Bottled at 115.1 proof, it elegantly prioritizes approachability and intricate balance over raw ethanol aggression. The damp river climate encourages slow maturation. It drinks exceptionally smooth today.
Independent bottling thrives on striking, unpredictable contrasts. The brutal intensity of the North Carolina release provides a fascinating, highly educational counterweight to the nuanced elegance found inside the Kentucky bottle. Securing an allocated bundle that perfectly illustrates regional American whiskey terroir is a rare, thrilling triumph. We genuinely love this aggressive juxtaposition
