The Matilde Special Edition Toro is a rare and thoughtfully blended cigar, crafted by Enrique Seijas at the esteemed Tabacalera La Isla in the Dominican Republic. This unique blend introduces something entirely new to the Matilde portfolio—an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper expertly paired with a Nicaraguan binder, and a rich mix of Peruvian and Dominican Pelo de Oro fillers. It’s a bold departure from tradition, and one that rewards the smoker with depth and elegance.
From the first draw, you’re greeted with a creamy cedar base layered with black pepper, roasted nuts, and subtle dried fruit sweetness. The Pelo de Oro leaf adds a distinctive character—both earthy and aromatic—while the Sumatra wrapper keeps everything smooth and balanced. This cigar isn’t just a limited release; it’s a showcase of craftsmanship and palate precision, perfect for seasoned smokers looking for something distinctive, complex, and undeniably refined.

About Matilde:
Matilde Cigars is a boutique cigar brand with deep roots in Dominican tobacco tradition and a passion for innovation. Originally founded in 1876, the Matilde name was revived in 2013 by José Seijas, a legendary master blender responsible for crafting some of the most iconic cigars of the modern era. Today, Matilde is led by his son, Enrique Seijas, who carries forward the legacy with a fresh perspective and a relentless commitment to quality.
Every Matilde cigar is crafted with a focus on balance, complexity, and character—not flash or gimmicks. The brand is known for using diverse tobaccos from across Latin America, blending rich Nicaraguan, Dominican, and even rarer Peruvian leaves to create cigars that evolve with every puff. From the approachable Matilde Serena to the bold Oscura and the boundary-pushing Special Edition, each blend reflects the Seijas family's deep understanding of tobacco and its ability to tell a story.
Matilde isn’t about mass production—it’s about craft, heritage, and authentic smoking experiences. Whether you're new to cigars or a seasoned aficionado, Matilde offers something layered, honest, and unforgettable.
