Monkey 47 — proof that when you mix 47 botanicals, a genius monkey, and a dash of Black Forest magic, you get a gin so complex it might just be smarter than you. It's floral, herbal, a little wild, and definitely not here to play basic. Sip it neat, mix it bold, or just admire it while pretending you can name all 47 ingredients.
"A good third of the ingredients for this special gin come from the Black Forest and are definitely not what you would call typical gin flavorings! In total, 47 handpicked ingredients, prepared in extremely soft spring water from their own Black Forest source, give MONKEY 47, whose pièce de résistance is the use of local cranberries as some sort of "secret weapon" typical to the Black Forest, its unrivaled complexity and quality, which is fully brought to bear through masterly distillation and maturing in traditional earthenware containers."
"Brilliant notes of citrus zest and fruit take the lead with juniper, ginger, and white pepper in support. Sweet orange notes rise on the palate and mingle carefully with the other botanicals on a rich bed of grain spirit. Lovely." 94 Points 2015 Ultimate Spirits Challenge
