Tasting notes: Red Plum, Pecan, Versatile
Community Blend combines coffees from two long-standing Direct Trade relationships: Nicholas Hammond in Chimaltenango, Guatemala, and Chalo Fernandez in Paicol, Huila, Colombia. Joining these Central and South American regions creates an easy-drinking blend while supporting the producer communities behind both components. Pilot describes the roast as versatile and medium in profile.
The cup is smooth and balanced, with red-plum sweetness and pecan-like depth. Different brew methods reveal complementary sides of the blend: drip can emphasize blackberry and chocolate-covered blueberry, espresso can bring grapefruit and black cherry, and immersion can lean toward fudge brownie and pomegranate. Across methods, the profile stays sweet, silky, and approachable.
