Poplar Grove CSM is a red wine from Canada, produced in the Okanagan Valley region of British Columbia. Poplar Grove Winery was founded in 1993 by the Holler family on the Naramata Bench near Penticton. The philosophy of Poplar Grove is a dedicated focus on the quality of their estate grown grapes, which are sourced from vineyards across the Okanagan Valley. The winery is particularly known for its commitment to growing and producing Bordeaux varietals.
Wine Description
The wine has a deep, saturated purple red colour. The aromatic profile is complex, offering notes of black cherry, blackcurrant, dark chocolate, tobacco, and black pepper. Further aromas include plum, cassis, dried fig, and hints of toasted oak. The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot, which is where the "CSM" designation is derived. The palate is rich and velvety, with an expansive mouthfeel and flavours of dark berries, mocha, plum, and black pepper. It has firm, integrated tannins and a good acidic structure.
