Privada Storytelling
The Purple 6 is a cigar born of happenstance — a delicious blunder that turned into a Privada goldmine. Erik Espinosa, an industry icon whose journey began with giants like Rocky Patel and Drew Estate before founding Espinosa Cigars, has always had an eye for quality and flavor. When AJ Fernández — one of the most celebrated blenders alive — created one of his priciest blends for Espinosa, a band mishap rerouted this luxury project into Privada’s hands.
What could have been lost to error instead became legend. Espinosa’s mastery and AJ’s brilliance combine here, creating a cigar that was never meant to fall into the public’s lap at this price point. It’s a moment of fortune — one of those rare times when a mistake becomes history, and collectors reap the reward.
Flavor Journey
-
Opening Act: Black pepper and milk chocolate lead, giving way to cream, oak, leather, caramel powder, smoke, vanilla, and charred cedar. A toasted marshmallow sweetness lingers.
-
Mid-Session Revelations: Cedar and pine meet chocolate charcoal, espresso, and sweet chocolate syrup. Black pepper remains while raspberry brightness adds intrigue.
-
The Grand Finale: Espresso and oak dominate with chocolate syrup richness. Red pepper and earthy root spice rise, evoking root beer syrup. Vanilla undertones close the performance in harmony.
Why It Belongs in Privada
Privada thrives on moments that the rest of the cigar world overlooks. Purple 6 is one such moment — an ultra-premium AJ Fernández blend, crafted for Espinosa, that fell into Privada’s hands through pure chance. It’s proof that accidents can sometimes produce masterpieces.
