Quails' Gate is a pioneer in viticulture and winemaking in Canada, with vineyards dating back to 1961. Family-farmed since 1956, the winery’s philosophy is predicated on quality over quantity. They are dedicated to producing world-class Pinot Noirs that express the distinct characteristics of their premium wine growing region.
Wine Description
Expect inviting notes of cherry, wild strawberry, sage, and black tea on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied and well structured with a rich tannin profile, presenting flavours of cherry and cocoa. The wine is often described as having an elegant structure and seamless integration of its components, characteristic of a well-regarded Pinot Noir from the Okanagan.
Food Pairing
This Pinot Noir is an ideal match for late-season mushrooms or squash risotto. Its structure also pairs beautifully with seared game meats or creamy wild mushroom pork chops. The wine's rich tannin profile and cherry notes complement the savoury umami of mushrooms and the richness of pork.
