Produced by Domaines Francis Abécassis, Reviseur Cognac Extra Origin is a prestigious single-estate expression sourced exclusively from the Petite Champagne growing region. The chalky soils of Petite Champagne impart exceptional elegance, structure, and aging potential to the eaux-de-vie. Distilled in small copper pot stills and aged for several decades in French oak barrels (positioning it at the Extra level), Extra Origin showcases intense rancio, rich dried fruits, polished oak, and sophisticated warm spices.
Food Pairing: Aged cheeses like Roquefort or vintage Gouda, dark chocolate truffles, foie gras, roasted duck with plum reduction, or fine cigars.
Tasting Notes: Deep mahogany and rich amber with fiery copper highlights and dense, slow-moving legs.
Nose: Rich, complex, and aromatic, featuring classic rancio notes, dried fig, candied orange peel, cigar box, leather, and subtle toasted brioche.
Palate: Full-bodied, velvety, and exceptionally smooth on the palate, delivering rich flavors of dark honey, dried apricot, rancio, liquorice, and roasted cocoa before developing into warm cedarwood and sweet nutmeg.
Finish: Long, intense, and remarkably persistent with lingering accents of dried fruit, warm oak spice, and refined rancio.
Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature in a tulip glass to appreciate its full aromatic complexity.
