Introduction:
Select Bitter Pilla is a refined and aromatic Italian aperitif, crafted with a careful blend of 30 botanicals, including juniper berries and rhubarb root. First created in Venice in 1920, this balanced bitter liqueur offers a harmonious mix of floral, grassy, citrusy, balsamic, and spicy notes, making it the perfect choice for a classic Select Spritz.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Aromatic blend of fresh juniper, floral botanicals, and subtle citrus zest.
- Palate: Balanced and complex, featuring herbal bitterness, sweet rhubarb, and hints of spice.
- Finish: Smooth yet vibrant, with a lingering bittersweet elegance.
Pairings:
Ideal for crafting the classic Select Spritz, served over ice with Prosecco and soda, garnished with a green olive. Its versatile and complex profile also makes it a great addition to Negronis, Americano cocktails, and aperitivo hour pairings with charcuterie, olives, and aged cheeses.
