Produced by Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, Stagg Batch 24D is an uncut and unfiltered Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey bottled at barrel proof. Released at 127.4 proof (63.70% ABV), it showcases the concentrated style associated with the Stagg series, combining dark fruit and brown sugar sweetness with caramel, vanilla, chocolate, charred oak and warming baking spice.
Food Pairing: Smoked brisket, grilled steak, aged cheddar, pecan pie, dark chocolate, or caramel desserts with roasted nuts.
Tasting Notes: Powerful and full-bodied, combining dark cherry and brown sugar with caramel, chocolate, vanilla, toasted oak and assertive warming spice.
Nose: Rich and concentrated, with caramel, cocoa and dark fruit accompanied by vanilla, charred oak and warming baking spices.
Palate: Bold and full-bodied, developing brown sugar and black cherry alongside dark chocolate, cinnamon, toasted oak and vanilla.
Finish: Long and warming, with lingering spice, oak and dark sweetness supported by persistent barrel-proof intensity.
Serve: Enjoy neat in a Glencairn or tulip-shaped glass; at 63.70% ABV, gradually adding a few drops of water can help open the fruit, caramel and chocolate while softening the barrel-proof heat.
