October 2026 Coffee: El Salvador
Flavor Notes: Cocoa, Dried Fruit, Nutty
El Salvador is a country in renaissance when it comes to coffee with its civil war ending over nearly three decades ago and subsequent decades of violence waning. Leaf rust is ever present, but renovation strategies have curbed the crisis. Coffee processing knowledge is drawn from generations of experience and there are no limits to the ways this generation producers has embraced tradition and innovation. This is certainly evident with coffee coming from the Ilamatepec mountain range within the department of Ahuachapan. This washed lot from the region represents the classic regional profile. During the harvest a great deal of care and focus is dedicated to picking and delivering the best quality of cherries to the mill where the coffee is depulped, fermented, washed, and dried on patios.
