This is Italy’s benchmark everyday brandy—classic, smooth, and unmistakably traditional. “Etichetta Nera” delivers soft caramel, dried fruit, and gentle oak with an easy, rounded profile. A heritage-driven, highly versatile brandy that has remained a staple for decades.
Vecchia Romagna traces its origins to 1820 in Bologna, making it one of Italy’s oldest and most recognized spirits. It is produced from Trebbiano grapes, a traditional Italian variety also used in Cognac production.
Key production elements:
- Distillation combines column still and Charentais-style pot still methods
- Aged in oak casks to develop aroma and softness
- Blended to achieve consistency and balance
The name “Etichetta Nera” (Black Label) represents the core expression of the house style, known for accessibility and balance rather than heavy aging.
The iconic triangular bottle, introduced in 1939, has become a defining visual signature of the brand.
