Blanton's calls its Single Barrel Bourbon the original single barrel bourbon. It first came out in 1984 at what is now Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. The name tells you how it's made. Each bottle comes from one barrel, with no blending across barrels. It ages in new charred oak barrels in the distillery's famous Warehouse H.
So, let's talk about that taste. This is a timeless classic for good reason. On the nose, you get creamy vanilla, caramel and butterscotch. Baking spices like clove and cinnamon follow. The palate brings sweet citrus and oak. It might sound simple, but it isn't. You get a deep, layered sip that many fans have come to crave.
Blanton's is bottled at 93 proof (46.5% ABV). Each barrel can taste a little different, so every bottle has its own personality. Collectors also love the stoppers. Each one shows a horse and jockey in a different pose. There are eight designs, one for each letter in B-L-A-N-T-O-N-S. People love a bottle with a story, and this one has plenty.
If you want a true single barrel experience, look no further than Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon. Try it neat first. Then add a drop of water to help open up those flavors. Anyway, we won't teach you how to drink. If you're grabbing Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon, we're sure you already know what you're doing.
